Sedation Dentistry

If you are anxious about having dental procedures, Bonomo Periodontics offers sedation dentistry to alleviate your fears and discomfort. Sedation includes a variety of methods to relax you and take the stress out of your procedure.

Dr. Bonomo is specially trained to administer sedation to his patients, having completed a three year specialty residency with a six month rotation in hospital anesthesia. 

We offer 3 levels of anesthesia listed below.

I.V. Sedation

I.V. sedation is one of the best ways to ensure your comfort during a periodontal procedure. This technique allows you to sleep through your surgery and awake with no recollection of the event. This is a very safe technique and your vital signs are monitored continuously. 

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is also referred to as "laughing gas." This odorless gas is given to you in our office prior to your procedure. Patients breathe in the gas and experience a mild sedation to help relieve anxiety. This type of sedation does not last as long and is safe for patients who need to drive themselves home from their appointment.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is the use of medication, in the form of a pill, that is prescribed for you prior to your procedure. Dr. Bonomo's staff will instruct you how and when to take the medication to ensure maximum comfort during the procedure.
